Welcome home? A garage makeover
Feng shui practitioners make a big fuss over the main entrance to a home because that’s where you get the first hit of energy from the house. But what about those of us with attached garages, where our point of entry to the home is through mountains of stuff that has no proper home?
This client had feng shui’d every other corner of her house except the garage, which frankly was a hell-hole. A motley assortment of cardboard boxes with illegible scribblings had survived several moves and were filled with ?? who knew? A tiny earthquake would have buried her car. The industrial shelving looked, well, industrial.
The picture shows only one of the three walls that were out of control. (The fourth wall is the garage door.)
She hated being welcomed home by this ugly chaos. A friend referred her to Practical Feng Shui which was based in Vancouver, WA where she lived.
After...
Practical Feng Shui got her started with a major clutter clearing and ideas for color enhancement.
After distributing her discards to the dump, the recycling center and Goodwill, the client applied a few cans of cheery paint to the walls and iron racks. She bought some fresh matching cardboard boxes to replace the tired ones and sorted through the contents before refilling them.
Finally, for an artistic touch, she mounted a couple of inexpensive posters on foam core backs.
She says that the garage makes her smile every time she comes home.
